Meet Our programs
Ethio-Canadian Cultural Academy has been offering programs to kids and youth since February, 2011. The organization runs Dance and language programs. ECCAI’s programs are year-round including English, Amharic and Tigrinya language lessons, Traditional Ethiopian dance and music classes and Summer programs for kids and youth.
The language and dance classes are held in two groups, first group contains students from the age of 4-13 and the second group contains students age 13 and above. Our classes are available at no cost to all interested Manitobans’ and all skills levels are welcome. The Academy's programs empower youth mentoring, youth development, arts, sports and recreation. The students share their experiences, learn from one another, connect with other students. children will also benefit from the general atmosphere.
Ethio-Canadian Cultural Academy has provided an opportunity for immigrant children, youth and adult in Manitobans for the past eleven years and on cross-cultural exchanges, community development and creative self-employability. The Cultural Academy has contributing to overcome the COVID-19 challenges faced to Ethiopian, Eritrean and another immigrant community starting from April 17, 2020 throughout the pandemic.
ECCAI has been operating in our community providing, organization free Day care to pre-School children, online service and summer programming to school age children and youth. Our summer programs were able to support 50 children and prove employment opportunity for 15 youth and over 10 women volunteers and safely run daycare, four language, Math, training and different activates with the necessary procedures. The Cultural Academy programs provide free service to empower Children, Youth and Families to build a great community though family economic empowerment and being safe in the neighborhoods. We want to thank our dedicated staff and volunteers for helping make our past programs such a success even through these trying times. See our pictures below.
As we move into the fall starting from last week of October 2020, we are running online tutoring and free tablet with necessary modifications to protect our staff and students from COVID 19. Our free fall classes have a limited number available to accept new and old students’ in our classes to maintain adequate support. Ethio-Canadian Cultural Academy has few spaces left to enroll students online tutoring classes and currently we are accepting student’s registration for our online evening and weekend.
