Ethio-Canadian Cultural Academy Inc focuses on an integrated approach that addresses the academic, social, emotional, and cultural needs of minority and vulnerable individuals. The organization achieves this by offering after-school programs, summer programs, recreational activities, and various projects that create a supportive environment, empowering them to thrive and succeed.
The Ethio-Canadian Cultural Academy offers year-round free programs and activities, including education, employment initiatives, Canadian work experience, cultural connection networking for immigrants, and entertainment in Winnipeg and Toronto. ECCAI provides training on employment, volunteer opportunities, self-employability, and integrating support for new immigrants. Additionally, it fosters multicultural connections through various events for diverse communities and all Canadians.

ECCAI offers language education in over six languages, including English, Arabic, Tigrigna, Afaan-Oromo, Amharic, and Ge'ez, for children and youth aged six to thirty. The aim is to enhance their educational success and positively impact their self-esteem. These classes encompass language lessons, reading, writing, presentation skills, math practices, cultural education, traditional Ethiopian dance, song practices, music classes, indoor and outdoor sports.
ECCAI's education programs and cultural and art classes are divided into two groups: the first group for students aged 6-13 and the second group for students aged thirteen and above. All our programs and classes are available at no cost, welcoming everyone regardless of race, age, religion, or sex. Interested individuals in Manitoba and Toronto, at all skill levels, are welcome to participate.
The Cultural Academy aims to inspire, educate, and support children, youth, and women in enhancing their knowledge, identities, dance, music, and lyric skills. It also seeks to nurture potential talents and support students who may be struggling academically. These classes play a crucial role in bridging learning gaps, offering additional support to help students catch up with their peers. Additionally, they provide employment opportunities for youth and women, fostering increased cross-cultural exchanges, community development, and creative self-employability.
ECCAI provides opportunities for physical fitness and teamwork through both indoor and outdoor sports, along with recreational activities aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle for children, youth, and women. The art programs at the Cultural Academy specifically support women and youth, allowing them to showcase their talents in dancing, music, and singing during live performances and public entertainment.
ECCAI offers opportunities for expression through art, music, drama, and creative writing, enabling individuals to explore their talents and creativity. The programs aim to develop time management and leadership skills when organizing events, celebrating diversity, where participants learn about and share their cultural backgrounds with others. The Academy's programs empower youth mentoring, youth development, peer friendships, group sports, and recreational activities. Students share their experiences, learn from one another, connect with other students, and benefit from the overall positive atmosphere.
The Cultural Academy has been contributing to overcoming the challenges posed by COVID-19 for Ethiopian, Eritrean, Sudanese, Somali, Indian, Afghan, and other immigrants who sought day care during the COVID-19 pandemic. During this challenging period, we provided free day care services to preschool children aged 2-5 years old.

For the past fourteen years, ECCAI has been providing employment support to underprivileged youth and immigrant women. Our programs aim to enhance knowledge, the economy, artistic skills, leadership, health, and overall well-being. Our free education initiatives and live performances are open to everyone, regardless of race, age, religion, or sex. They are designed to contribute to the development of a well-rounded new generation by fostering creativity, critical thinking, and knowledge, which in turn contribute to personal growth. Simultaneously, these programs entertain both Canadians and tourists while making a positive contribution to Canadian multicultural society.
New immigrants acquire new skills, youth explore art presentations, and both processes contribute to the development of creativity, social integration, and economic benefits for families and diverse communities. The Ethio-Canadian Cultural Academy is renowned for fostering intercultural communities, and everyone is welcome to join us for free!
The Cultural Academy provides academic, dance, music, and singing skills, along with support for potential talents, networking, and entertainment to all of Winnipeg and Toronto. Our education program professionally supports children and youth in learning artistic skills, fostering new talents, teamwork, and enhancing their connections, solidarity, and a sense of community.
ECCAI has educated over two thousand five hundred students from diverse backgrounds in various programs over the past 14 years, catering to different communities. Cultural education plays a crucial role in preserving immigrants' and minorities' knowledge, customs, traditions, and ways of life for future generations, ensuring the importance of their cultural heritage.
Since 2010, the Cultural Academy has educated over two thousand five hundred students from diverse backgrounds through various programs that bring a wide range of benefits to children, youth, women, and families. ECCAI offers free language, math, homework assistance, art, cultural training, and mentorship support to children and youth aged 6-24.
Our organization supports minority and vulnerable women and youth by offering services such as daycare, cooking, and driving classes. Additionally, we provide them with opportunities to learn about economics, receive employment assistance, engage in voluntary Canadian work experiences, and enhance their art skills.
Ethio-Canadian Cultural Academy has been providing free live performances to everyone, irrespective of race, age, religion, or sex, in Winnipeg, Ottawa, and Toronto for the past fourteen years. We have facilitated cross-cultural exchanges, community development, and supported creative self-employability. Our organization has a history of significant artistic achievements and has entertained diverse communities by hosting events such as Canada 150 in Ottawa, Ethiopian Gonet 20 celebration at the Ethiopian embassy, Canadian 50 years of Flag Day, Multicultural Day at The Forks in Winnipeg, and annual events in Toronto, preserving ethnocultural practices.
ECCAI programs and services address the most persistent challenges faced by minority communities, particularly youth who are out of work and out of school, and new immigrant youth who struggle to secure or retain employment. Our programs have helped and continue to enable individuals to explore their talents, creating dances, music, songs, and honing choreography skills that enhance self-employability.
These services provide new immigrants, minority youth, and women with the opportunity to realize their potential as entrepreneurs. This includes developing their own ideas, crafting detailed business plans, making a commitment to their goals, receiving hands-on training, obtaining financial support, and exploring whether they have the qualities to succeed as entrepreneurs. The Cultural Academy, through its educational programs, community service initiatives, and diverse activities, supports new immigrants, the younger generation, and empowers women to make significant contributions to our society.
The programs at Ethio-Canadian Cultural Academy are now open for enrollment in our online tutoring classes. We welcome and accept student registrations for our evening, weekend, and summer sessions. To receive our support, please register through email. Additionally, we facilitate online applications for your convenience at www.eccai.ca or by email at [email protected]
