Guragigna

TRADITIONAL DANCE

DEFINITION

Guragigna, a dance rooted in the cultural heritage of the Guraghe people, emanates from an Ethiopian Semitic-speaking ethnic group residing in Ethiopia. With a population of 3,567,377 individuals, including 256,737 urban residents, the Guraghe people have enriched their traditions through Guragigna.

This dance form incorporates more than just shoulder twists; it integrates a rhythmic foot movement, seemingly guided by invisible strings connected to the shoulders. This intricate coordination harmonizes with the beat of the drums, creating a captivating and dynamic dance expression.
